Two volumes. Publisher's black cloth, spine titles gilt. Ownership stamp to front free endpapers in both volumes. Corners lightly bumped on both volumes, volume 2 slightly bowed, else a bright Near Fine set.
Unclipped dust jackets with some light smudges, tiny chips and closed tears along edges, spines lightly toned, light general wear, else Very Good. Nice examples of the rare jackets.
One of the 20th century’s landmark political philosophy works - written during Popper’s political exile in New Zealand. He arrived there in 1937 to escape the forces of National Socialism in Austria. Within, he launches a vigorous attack on totalitarianism and defense of liberal democracy with core values rooted in scientific rationality and debate.
