Folio(340 x 215mm). Full contemporary leather, front and back boards with beautiful center and corner gilt images depicting Christ and the four Evangelists. Frontispiece, 5 full-page plates depicting the Evangelists and Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery itself is likely depicted within one of these plates. Woodcut titles, initials, and tailpieces. Text in red and black, some pages printed on blue paper. Occasional old wax stains and foxing, first few leaves with damp staining along the bottom edges, last pastedown and endpaper with small paper repair along bottom lengths, otherwise pages are quite clean. Bottom spine leather chipped away, lower half of front hinge split, but binding still sound.
 
Title page with printed dedication to Alexander I and Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna, and at its bottom an ex-libris ink inscription of St. Troitsky Monastery, Belbazhsky sisterhood. This convent was later closed by the Bolsheviks.
 
A Very Good example of a beautiful production printed in historic Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with a nice provenance.
